Facial Care

Amaan Spa uses thalassotherapy (health through sea water) and balneotherapy (use of seaweed for medical and beauty purposes) products for the facial treatments.

Thalassotherapy is the associated and simultaneous use of the beneficial effects of sea water and its components and the utilisation of the marine bio-sphere and micro-climate. Seawater is rich in minerals, oligo elements and biological elements from its plankton content. The healing properties of seawater has been understood for centuries and is the base of modern thalassotherapy.

Balneotherapy - Seaweed contains a lot of mineral and trace elements which promotes healthy and beautiful skin. For example, copper enhances skins elastine and collagen, iodine activates metabolism good for treating cellulite, magnesium helps with collagen synthesis and skin moisturising factors. The end result:

• detoxifies the epidermis, improves skin condition and appearance
• smoothes and softens the skin leaving it firm and tones
• re-hydrates the skin

All our facial treatments include

• Cleansing
  Contains minerals provided by the seaweed restore the moisture balance on the epidermis, sweet almond oil, calendula and lavender help the skin regain softness and suppleness.
  

• Toning
  Essential for thorough cleansing, our alcohol free toning lotions tighten pores and purify skin. It is also enriched with marine trace elements and softening agents to revitalise, soothe, and protect the epidermis.
  

• Gentle Face Scrub (Except for over exposed skin)
  Gently cleans and eliminates dead cells and impurities.
  The Wheat Germ Oil and Vitamin E in our gentle face scrubs reinforce the moisture of the upper layers of the epidermis and give the skin a younger and smoother look.
  

• Face mask
  Firming mask with 3 types of seaweeds (All skin types)
  
  Combines the properties of 3 types of seaweed (Laminara, Spirulina, and Lithothamnium) which have 3 different beneficial properties for skin: firm, moisturise, and soften.
  The Pro Vitamins A E F B group, and Amino Acids regulate water balance in the skin cells, while the Cantella asiatica and allanton leaves skin feeling soft and supple.
  
  Purifying Mask (Combination and Oily skin)
  This mask purifies the epidermis by absorbing excessive sebaceous secretions.
  The green clay and sulphur in Laminaria digitata seaweed stimulates and decongests clogged pores and helps in draining and eliminating impurities such as black heads, and acne out of the skin.
  
  Nutritive Hydra Mask (Dry Devitalised skin)
  Specially formulated to regain radiance, vigour and tone.
  This treatment has a rich, non greasy texture giving it great powers of penetration. The combination of moisturising and nourishing agents in karite and avocado oil softens and protects while restoring the hypolipidic film on the surface of the skin.
  
  Desensitising Mask with Azulene (Sensitive Skin)
  Specially designed to moisturise and soothe sensitive skin to regain comfort and softness. It calms the burning sensation of irritated or over exposed skin from the very first application.
  The red and brown algae provide elements which regulate the suppleness of the skin while Azulene derived from Chamomile sooths and calms irritated skin.
  

• Face massage (All skin types)
  Our facial massage creams contain moisturising agents, beeswax and seaweed trace elements which nourish, renew and soften the skin. The extracts of calendula and lime blossom in the cream soothes and calm the senses.
  

• Moisturising
  Moisturising Cream with Marine Liposomes (All skin types)
  
  The seaweed concentrate in the cream regulates the moisture level of the skin, while Wheatgerm oil and Vitamin E nourishes and firms the epidermis to help protect the skin.
  
  Desensitising Cream (Sensitive and fragile skin)
  Soothes and calms irritated skin, clears pores of the epidermis and tones down blotches.
  Liquorice extracts and Azulene extracted from Chamomile work together to make the face less sensitive. The combination of seaweed and Vitamin E has a gradual restructuring action: weak tissues are fortified and cell renewal is accelerated.

• Firming Facial (All skin types) - 1 Hour 15 minutes

• Hydrating Facial (For dry and devitalised skin) - 1 Hour 15 minutes

• Desensitising Facial (For sensitive skin) - 1 Hour
